New: In-line measuring of asphaltenes, wax and scale up to 700 bar / 10,000 psi.
Measure asphaltenes, wax and scale in-line directliy in the pipeline, for example in the side stream or at shipping with the PSL automated Flocculation Tester.
For this in-line solid detection we developed special probes, that can be screwed directly into a pipeline. The probes are available for three pressure ranges: up to 10 bar /145 psi, up to 200 bar / 2,900 psi and up to 700 bar / 10,000 psi.
Naturally, you can still use all features of the approved measuring site with the in-line probe.
The automated Flocculation Titrimeter enables fast and easy measurements to test the efficiency of asphaltene inhibitorsor the compatibility between condensates and asphaltic crudes in laboratory. Enhanced with the pressure vessel provided by PSL measurements of live oil under pressureare possible. Use for measurements equivalent to ASTM D6703 Automated Heithaus Titrimetry.
The automated Flocculation Titrimeter is particularly suited for samples with a very low translucency. To measure the partial translucency of a sample and thereby determine flocculation points, PSL developed a probe with a high light sensitivity of 0.005 lux - measuring principle and typical measurement see background knowledge.
This light probe enables flocculation tests in very dark, undiluted crudes and oil products. To achieve best possible results, the light probe is automatically adjusted to the translucency of the sample. Thus, the light probe always receives the optimal amount of light and cross fading effects by too much light are prevented.
An experiment is executed by titrating an organic precipitation agent to the sample at a set rate. The light probe inserted to the sample measures the translucency, the data are recorded by the software.
The automated Flocculation Titrimeter is available as a standalone-deviceas well as an automated measuring site. The measuring site comprises an additional dosing pump for titrating the sample and a thermostat for temperatures up to 200 °C / 392 °F. The latter enables measurings under high temperatures, to distinguish paraffin and asphaltene precipitation. Optionally available sealed sample vessel eliminates solvent losses from evaporation. To measure live oils under pressurethe measuring site is available with a high-pressure vessel for up to 700 bar / 10,000 psiand an integrated stirrer.
The high-pressure light probe is directly fixed to the pressure vessel. Additionally, the vessel can be equipped with a temperature or pressure sensor. This enables enhanced flocculation tests and measurements with specified ambient and reservoir conditions, for example simulated deep sea conditions. We provide three modelsof the autoamted Flocculation Titrimeter for pressures: up to 10 bar / 145 psi, up to 200 bar / 2,900 psi and for pressures up to 700 bar / 10,000 psi with temperatures -25 °C / -13 °F up to 200 °C / 392 °F.
In combination you can measure pressures up to 650 bar / 9,400 psi at temperatures of up to 150 °C / 302 °F.
The Flockulation Titrimeter and the other components of the FT-System can be controlled with the software WinFT. The software enables an easier scheduling and executing of experiments. Temperature and pressure gradients are displayed as real-time charts. The measuring results are displayed user-friendly and can be exported to other applications, for example Excel for further evaluation.
Thanks to compact dimensions, the standalone-version of the Flocculation Titrimeter is portable.
